Execution of Mehrdad Mohammadinia and Ashkan Maleki Message, June 1, 2026

Today, Mehrdad Mohammadinia and Ashkan Maleki, who had been arrested during the January national uprising, were executed by the Islamic Republic.

As in other political cases, the Islamic Republic once again presents a coerced "confession" as evidence — confessions extracted under pressure, intimidation, and torture, and without any regard for due process. In such a process, protesters and political prisoners are denied access to independent counsel and are convicted in hasty, opaque trials by a judiciary that serves the security apparatus.

Their names must not be forgotten. We will hold the Islamic Republic accountable for its daily crimes against the people of Iran.
