Iran's Fuel Crisis Message, August 22, 2026

Fuel crisis in Iran — cars lining up at a gas station; بحران سوخت در ایران

My dear compatriots,

The Islamic Republic's attempt to raise gasoline prices has once again exposed the incompetence and structural disarray of Iran's energy market under this regime's rule.

At a time when the Islamic Republic spends the country's resources on foreign terrorists and domestic agents of repression, the regime's officials and their inner circles compete with one another in plundering the national wealth, and the regime's incompetence in running the country has broken the backs of households and impoverished Iranians. Imposing a fuel price increase on the people is an unforgivable mistake and a great betrayal. Fuel prices cannot be compared with those of other countries while Iranians' incomes are in rials and below the poverty line.

In nearly every country in the world — even many with far fewer resources than Iran — fuel and energy are managed routinely and without crisis.

On one side, the IRGC's smuggling mafia funnels tens of millions of liters of Iran's wealth out of the country every day through tankers, pipelines, and docks; on the other, the automobile mafia forces low-quality, fuel-hungry cars on the nation. This criminal cult, incapable of solving the problem, uses its propaganda machine to place the burden of the fuel shortage on the people's shoulders, portraying them as the cause of rising consumption and fuel smuggling.

The Islamic Republic is an incompetent, corrupt, and anti-Iranian regime that is itself the root of this disarray and will never be able to resolve it.

The only way to save Iran and end this destructive cycle is the complete overthrow of this regime and the establishment of an effective national government. The Iran Prosperity Project has developed clear programs to create balance between fuel production and consumption. These programs are grounded in the world's best proven practices and in Iran's own national experience in managing energy resources, and they will be implemented in the transition period, after this regime's fall.

Payandeh Iran,

Reza Pahlavi
